Moulin Rouge Birthday Party!

This is one of those movies that either grabs you, or repels you. Personally, it's on my top ten list! Why? Because I find the wardrobe and setting rich, vibrant, fun, the story touching, the characters romantic, and the style just stunning!
  

So it is only natural to celebrate my birthday by incorporating the one movie that encompasses all the artistic, romantic, tragic, dark, beautiful things that I love! I couldn't have asked for a better birthday, as all our friends came out to celebrate, dressed to the nines and ready to have a blast!

And because it wouldn't be right to not include one of my outfit - a special thanks to The Fitting Room in Seattle for the custom made corset! (The rest I made myself)

Thank you all for making my 30th Birthday so energetic and unforgettable!

30 Years and Counting

Well, today is the day... It is my 30th Birthday. I found myself listening to some songs on the radio and it was just one of those days when they play all the right songs. You know, when one comes on that you haven't heard in forever and it takes you back to when you used to hear it on the radio all the time... You get a little nostalgic, and what better day to do just that than on your Birthday!?

Everyone asked me this last week, aren't you upset, don't you feel depressed? Are you kidding me!!!? I'm 30! I feel like it is a milestone to celebrate and be happy, and share with my friends and family all the joy and wonders I've experienced and love in my life. And this Friday that is what I'm doing! I'm not depressed - I'm ecstatic! In the mean time - I thought I'd give you a peek into my last 30 years and share some of my favorite old photographs... Enjoy!


I've had a lot of adventures in my lifetime... Driving a tractor may have been the first experience, and a bike second, but eventually I got a car...

I've done a lot of fun things from fishing, ballet, being in a theatrical company, to belly dancing, and guitar...

But to this day one of my favorite things to do is travel...

 

I've always been a bit of a nature girl...

I had my time in High School...

And in College...

 

And time in between...

 But most importantly in my 30 years - I've been blessed with the love of my life, my one and only. It only took us about eight years to figure out that friendship was just the beginning for us...

Carie + Clyde Engaged!

Carie and Clyde met at work and their love has grown since day one. Spend just five minutes with them and you can just tell. You know when you look at a couple and you can see they are one of those couples that will be flirting with one another until the day they part this earth... The couple that will make it through thick and thin, that share many things, but also have their own unique qualities and know that it is just as important to have time for yourself as it is to have time together... Those are the couples that last, that we all hope to be ourselves. That is Carie and Clyde, and I had a blast at their engagement session!

It rained, no, that is an understatement, it was a flood in the making. When I arrived in Orange Park, there was a storm fast approaching. That storm quickly came and it evolved into what one thinks a monsoon starts as... Rain was coming down so fast and furious I was sure we were done for the day - and we hadn't even started yet! But something told me to hold out a bit - and sure enough, we went on with the day as planned, with a little detour, and we managed to have the beach all to ourselves - well almost. It was a beautiful day and I couldn't have asked for a better couple to spend it with! And I'll tell you a secret, they are just as cute together in real life (and a ton of fun) as they seem in these pictures!
