Winter 2011 Bridal Show
The Bridal Show was Sunday and what a BLAST! The theme of the Show was Pretty in Pink - how perfect! So of course I decked out my booth with pink accents. Yeah, I know, not a huge stretch for me. I featured a slide show, several prints, and my beautiful Wedding Books handcrafted in Italy! I also held a drawing - and for all you amazing brides that signed up - winners will be contacted by the end of the week! Drawing prizes are listed at the end of this post, best of luck to everyone!
As if there were not enough excitement already, they also held a fantastic Fashion Show! Although I didn't want to leave my post for too long, I couldn't resist to sneak a peak. Wow - they had some stunning dresses!
I met a very talented & fun Event, Wedding, & Floral Planning gal, Lara, of Lara's Theme! She was nice enough to let me snap a few pictures of her booth and I couldn't help but share them! Lara has some fantastic, fresh, and unique ideas I just couldn't pass by without snagging a few shots! She can be found on facebook under Laras Theme - check her out!!!
Lara's Theme - LOVE her work!!! |

Bridal Show on Sunday
So the big local bridal show is this Sunday and I'm a part of it! I can't begin to tell you how excited I am!!! I just love the buzz of a big convention center filled with brides and their family and friends, searching for people to help make their day, the perfect day. What I love even more is being given the opportunity to do just that.
For me bridal shows are all about getting to know the couples that are there and learn what they are passionate about. How do they envision their day, is there a theme, what is the inspiration? I love the energy, the fashion, the fun! Hope to see you all there! :~D

Carla's Sweet 16 Session!
Like many 16 year olds, Carla was excited to finally turn 16! It is the age you can get your drivers license, you start hoping that a Junior or Senior will ask you to prom so you can say you went to prom as a Sophomore, it is a time to remember and cherish... A time to explore who you are, and mostly, it's a time to have fun!
Carla is one of those lovable gals that warms up to you right away... Smart, gorgeous, and full of energy! She is always smiling when I see her, the range of crazy expressions are truly endless, and every single one of them make me laugh! By the way, that's a good thing!
Like most young women she wasn't so much camera shy as she was concerned about taking photographs in public, but she ROCKED it and they came out as beautiful as she is! Like a pro she even agreed to run into the ocean, at sunset, in December, for a great picture - of course it's December in Florida mind you... But it's still a tad chilly! :~)

Heather + Chris Engaged!
It was a mild Florida day, to be fair, it was probably much colder than a native Floridian is used to... (I LOVED it!) Heather and Chris were champions as they went from location to location and splashed in the Ocean for a while! I was so excited to do the session at places that were meaningful to them. I truly believe that it is very important to pick a location that has personal significance.
As we were gearing up for the session it was wonderful to hear about her history with the church we were at, and how he used to play football! They have many different interests and are so supportive of one another, it is just the type of strength and love one can't get enough of!
Heather and Chris made my day, I couldn't have spent it with a better couple! It was so much fun to see them twirling around in the water, throwing footballs, and stealing kisses. I was so full of energy after the session (not to mention soaked and sandy from the beach) that when I got home I had to go steal some kisses from my dearest loving husband myself! I just couldn't help myself! What can I say, my couples are that inspiring! :~)

Be Inspired!
I heard the following quote today from the Director of the UK division of GraphiStudio and it struck my heart. I related to it deeply within my own life experiences and it is for that reason that I share it with all of you...
"In today's age when so many people have images that are just going to disappear onto hard drives never to be seen, this could be the century of forgotten images. And it's only through a physical representation of those in a book, that people in a 100 - 150 years time are going to see something beautiful. And that's what...we're trying to make sure that people remember." ~ Jeremy Price
I have been going through the boxes upon boxes of photographs that I have from my life, and I keep telling myself every year I will organize them and place them in some sort of book... I never have and it's a shame. As I watch those I love fade, a photograph is all I have. And what of the pictures from their lives that I wouldn't know anything about without them here to tell the story? It becomes this lost image and it's so very saddening to me because each image is so very precious. No more though - I am working on a very long and tedious project of my own book of photographs! And it is my goal to make sure those I capture images for will not loose them on a hard drive never to be seen or cherished by their great grandchildren!
I am inspired by GraphiStudio to work harder at my profession on a daily basis to be the best photographer I can be. Why? Because they make such beautiful wedding books that I literally have dreams of photographs I want to take but haven't yet just so they can be displayed in them! I know this may sound odd, but it isn't a promotion for the company - it's a promotion for finding inspiration in everything around us to do what we dream of! I have always had a deep love for books, culture and the olde world, and the visual arts. It makes sense to me to record moments in time as elegantly as possible for future generations to see and share.
I aspire to become better with every photograph I take. If I didn't, I'd never try anything new, never reach new heights, learn new techniques. But my whole life I've known that you learn something new every moment you take a breath only if you are open to the idea of learning... You grow the same way, become ever improved, and with that you inspire others and pass along something worth while into the world. There are no limits to what we can do, share, give, learn, become, if we just pursue our goals with passion every single day! That is what it is to be a passionate person, and I am a photographer of passionate people!

Amy + Mike Married!
This wedding was a lesson in second shooting as a photographer. I don't usually second shoot for other photographers, you loose the opportunity to get the best shots of the day, and you can't tell an entire story without all the shots. But I am a sucker for details and for trying new things, and being a second shooter allows for me to concentrate on those details.
So when the opportunity presented itself, I made the exception for Amy's wedding - after all, the more photographs for the couple, the better. I have no problem being a support photographer, it's a nice break and an opportunity to push myself as a photographer, trying new things I wouldn't usually do if I was the only one documenting the day.
I am grateful for Amy allowing a second photographer on her wedding day. Amy and Mike have a beautiful family and they both have children that were able to be a part of their day. I could tell that family was a big part of who they are, and so is having FUN! Sound familiar? It was a spectacular event and I'm grateful I was able to be there to capture some of the finer moments!
